HOME FOR CHILDREN

Our home and adoption care facility is located at Anna Nagar in Chennai, INDIA. Newborn babies and children up to the age of 5 years are admitted by CWC/SARA (State Adoption Resource Authority, Government of Tamil Nadu). VIT seeks to place abandoned, orphaned and/or surrendered babies and children who are legally cleared through CWC and CARA (Child Adoption Resource Authority, Ministry of Women & Child Welfare, Government of India) for adoption to prospective adoptive parents in India and overseas....The goal is to find loving families for the children. We maintain high standards of quality and experience at our home. Our goal at the home is to help children thrive; and to work towards providing a nurturing environment for growth while working towards building, strengthening and sustaining individual, family and community life.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT

The early years of a child’s life are very important for his or her health and development. Parents, health professionals, educators, and others in the child's ecosystem can work together as partners to help children grow up to reach their full potential.Healthy development means that children of all abilities, including those with special health care needs, can grow up where their social, emotional, and educational needs are met. ...

Having a safe and loving home and spending time with family - playing, singing, reading, and talking - are very important. Proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep also can make a big difference. At the child development center of VIT, we endeavor to provide the right environment for the children in their formative and transitive times as they await their turn to find a loving and nurturing home.

Some educational activities conducted at Varshini Illam:

Conducted a zoom VC with Prospective Adoptive Parents (PAP) who adopted children in May 2020 with a child psychologist explaining the upbringing of children. The session was attended by over 20 PAPs and all our trustees who offered advice to PAPs and the chief guest was from SARA.
